On the 8th of December 2011 Internet Association of Kazakhstan organized a round table «Safe Internet space in Kazakhstan: aims of the society and business» in Almaty.

Among the participants were representatives of governmental bodies, owners of large internet resources, hosting providers. They were required to determine activities that would help to improve coordination among the participants of the Kazakhstani segment of Internet, governmental bodies and NGOs for promotion of safer internet environment.

At the very first round table (27th of June, 2011) Internet Association of Kazakhstan made a first step towards making internet a safer place by creating an internet hotline. Hotline is a specialized internet service which can be used by any internet user to report any encountered illegal internet content anonymously. Depending on the results of initial check the specialists of the hotline take actions for prevention of further distribution of illegal content by means of blocking or closing the resource.
