Parental control on Google Chrome

Google is testing a filter for its browser which will allow parents to protect their children from the websites with unreliable content.

According to Wikipedia, parental control is a complex of rules and measures directed at prevention of negative influence of the Internet on a child.

According to the latest research carried out by the B2B International together with the Kaspersky Lab, which involved more than 8.6 thousand respondents from different countries, 79% of parents believe that effective methods for protection of children on the internet are used by them and are on demand.

Due to this, in a modern society parental control is a realized necessity. The problem is that such program has to be installed and parents have to know quite a bit about the system of a computer it order to be able to understand minimum 15 pages of a user’s manual, written in a dry technical language.

It is expected that the Parental Control function, announced by Google will not require installation or setting up of separate software and the changes will be related only to the browser. In order to protect children from undesirable content, parents will have to create a list of websites or groups of websites from a single hosting, which are not desirable for their children. In addition, it would be possible to control search requests and block particular key phrases.
